A Green Week

For the last week, NBC and its affiliates have been doing green programing. They have been putting on programs about the environment, carbon footprinting, etc, etc. IMO, this is a good thing but unfortunately it is not enough. After the week has past, the people will go back to being the carbon hogs they have always been. All the useful info will be forgotten, ignored or whatever they do. A week is not enough to change people's attitudes.

If these people really wanted to help make a difference they would run these types on snig-lets year round. If the education of the people into a better way to approach the environment, a week's worth of info, is not the way. It is a way for the corporations that now own the media to appear to really give a sh*t about the environment.

This is just the typical approach of corporations--appear to care while doing nothing.

i saw the green nbc logo this week. i think its good to raise awarness but i think at this point most people realize they need to help the environment. the problem isn't so much not enough green tv shows, beenfit concerts, etc...people are still driving giant suvs, using old fashioned light bulbs etc. we need more economic incentive to change i think. just my two cents
